On Friday, March 20, KHS students danced the night away at this year’s spring formal. The theme for this year's formal was A Night on The Bayou.
“This theme was decided because the council and the seniors wanted a Formal that is different from the formals of the last years,” said Student Council president Ethan Lytle. “The theme brings with it a new color scheme and a new range of decorations.”
The decorations included natural colors and a water theme with bubble lights and flowers.
"I thought student council did a great job decorating and handling the dance," said junior Ava Federspill.
One highlight of the event was the crowning of the spring formal senior king and queen and the underclassmen princes and princesses. Seniors Anna Becker and Jose Calvillo were crowned queen and king, while freshmen Rylie Bowlin and Jakobi Reece, sophomores Brooklyn Hawkins and Hutchinson Munsey, and juniors Federspill and Akeem Davis were crowned princes and princesses.
"The highlight of my night was celebrating with my friends after my win. I was surrounded with lots of positive energy and I was constantly congratulated for the remainder of the night," Hawkins said.
