As spring sports begin, student athletes are preparing for a new season filled with competition, improvement and team goals. Across multiple sports, teams are putting in work early and getting ready to represent the school in a positive way. Each of these teams brings a different energy but they all share the same drive to succeed.
Girls’ Track is entering the season focused on both individual and team growth, and they are ready to succeed.
“People should know that this team is a very diverse group that has been putting in extra work training preparing for this upcoming season and have outstanding support for each other,” said senior captain Tia Williams.
These athletes are working to improve times and push themselves in different events. The team is working hard to stay competitive throughout the season.
Boys’ Track is coming into the season with strong motivation to compete. This team has been working hard during the off-season to prepare for the upcoming season.
“This team is just ready to compete,” said senior captain Jeremiah Young. “We have a great chance of winning NCC and sectionals, so us having these goals and mindset has really pushed us to another level this year.”
Unified Track enters this season bringing energy, teamwork and support, creating a positive environment.
“I am really excited to see how much we grow as a team and what we can accomplish. I’m ready to see how far we can get this season, and I’m overall really excited,” said four-year member Macy Rakestraw.
Boys’ Golf is heading into this year ready to compete and bring a positive environment. Just being with teammates throughout the season drives the team to win.
“I’m really looking forward to playing with my team again for one last time. As a team we bring positive vibes to each match and win as much as possible,” said senior Canaan Horner.
The Baseball team is preparing for a competitive season with great teamwork and improvement.
“We are ready to finally play and show Kokomo fans what we have been working really hard for. This team is consistently putting work on the field and in the classroom,” said senior Harry Blake.
These players have been working hard and can’t wait to show it off.
Girls’ Tennis is entering the season with a focus on individual performance and team chemistry. With a new head coach, the team is figuring out how to play together.
“We are ready to get back on the court and just play. Our team has a lot of fun playing and keeps our environment positive no matter the outcome,” said senior Claire Callane.
Boys’ Volleyball is bringing energy and intensity into the spring season.
“As a team we are ready to compete and show off the skills we have been working on this off-season. We have a team filled with guys who want to work hard and are committed to the team,” said junior Ethan Landrum.
Spring sports are off to a great start with each team bringing dedication and excitement into the season. As these teams continue to grow and compete this spring is expected to be filled with hard work and positivity.
