When people think about luck, they usually imagine big things winning the lottery, finding a pot of gold or having everything go perfectly. But sometimes luck looks a lot simpler than that. Sometimes it looks like the everyday things we don’t always stop to think about.
We’re lucky to be here at this school, surrounded by friends, teachers and opportunities that help shape who we are. Every day we walk through the same halls, sit in the same classrooms and share moments that may feel ordinary now but will probably become some of our favorite memories later. The laughs during lunch, the stress before a big test, the excitement at games or events are all part of the experience.
Many of us are lucky to have chances that people in other places might not have. We get the opportunity to learn, to try new things, to join teams or clubs and to start thinking about our futures. Some of us drive to school, others ride with friends or take the bus, but no matter how we get here, we all share the same place and the same moments.
It’s easy to focus on the busy days, the homework or the small problems that come up during the year. But when we step back and look at it differently, we can see that being here, growing up together, and having the chance to learn and create memories is already something special.
Maybe luck isn’t always about something extraordinary happening. Maybe sometimes luck is simply being where we are, with the people around us building memories that will stay with us long after we leave these halls.
