National Junior Honor Society

The National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) is more than just an honor roll. At Central Middle School, our chapter is a vibrant community of student leaders dedicated to excellence, service, and character. These characteristics have been associated with membership in the organization since its beginning in 1929.

Membership is a permanent recognition of a student’s hard work and commitment to the five pillars that define the NJHS: Scholarship, Service, Leadership, Character, and Citizenship.

Our Pillars of Excellence

  • Scholarship: Maintaining a high academic standard and a lifelong commitment to learning.

  • Service: Engaging in meaningful volunteerism to better our school and the Kokomo community.

  • Leadership: Taking initiative in and out of the classroom to inspire others.

  • Character: Demonstrating reliability, honesty, and sincerity in every interaction.

  • Citizenship: Understanding the importance of civic involvement and pride in our school.
